Improving the verification and certification process of the highlift system by introduction of virtual testing is a cornerstone of the Airbus testing strategy future aircraft.

Existing processes for the management of all test related data have to be extended to cover the specifics of using multibody simulation models for virtual tests of highlift failure cases.
MSC Software GmbH and Airbus developed the “Highlift Virtual Test Portal” (Fig.: 1) based on MSC SimManager to verify and demonstrate the technical feasibility.

This demonstrator had to fulfil on the one side global requirements like data management, data traceability and workflow management. On the other hand, also specific requirement coming from the highlift test department had to be fulfilled. The major requirements were connection to the existing test management system (TMS), starting the execution of test procedures within MSC ADAMS, feedback of relevant data to the TMS.

The presentation will give an overview of the SimManager integration and customization within the Highlift test environment.
